Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating Volunteers' Week!
The week kicked off with our yummy intercepted Networking Breakfast for local groups. We were joined by an amazing guest Donna McArdle, Co-founder of The Real Junk Food Project - Edinburgh, who gave us all a lot of food for thought!
On the third day, Community Transport East Renfrewshire SCIO held their Volunteer Recognition Afternoon, where volunteers were joined by East Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership and Strathclyde Partnership for Transport staff who helped with setting up and serving refreshments, as a way of saying thank you to the volunteers for their valuable commitment.
We rounded off the week with our first Volunteer Fair & Café which gave local people a chance to speak to more than 15 local groups about volunteering; we also held our annual ‘Thank You’ party to recognise the amazing work of VAER’s volunteers.
Volunteers’ Week for 2017 has now come to an end; though the work does not end here… saying ‘Thank You’ to volunteers can, and should, happen all year round. We will continue to promote volunteering in East Renfrewshire and say thanks to the amazing volunteers that make it all possible.
