Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire would like to congratulate The Fairweather Drop In Centre for being granted The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.
The Fairweather Drop-In Centre caters to older people from multicultural backgrounds, and meets for lunch clubs, yoga sessions and educational trips around Scotland or further afield.
Due to a lack of facilities the Centre was created to fill a need for ethnic minorities in East Renfrewshire to get together.
The group have just been awarded the equivalent of an MBE for volunteer groups.
The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work done in their own communities. It was created in 2002 to celebrate the anniversary of The Queen's coronation.
